ISLAMABAD- Charbagh White Swat Football Club won the Shahzad Shaheed Memorial Soccer Tournament by defeating Shahbaz XI Dheri 2-0 in the final played in Batkhela. A total of 32 clubs from across the Malkand Division participated in the event. The final started at a fast pace as both teams tried to seal the early initiative, but it was the Charbagh, which took the lead in the 35th minute through defender Wali's header. Khan doubled his team's advantage through a neatly taken free kick at the start of the second half. Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation Secretary General Ijaz-ur-Rehman was the chief guest who announced to sponsor the event for the rest of his life as Shahzad Shaheed was himself a very good player. Ijaz said there was no dearth of talent in the region and vowed to do everything to support Malakand youth in sports field. –Staff Reporter
