Texas - HL - After a long search and many rumors, Selena Gomez has hired Katy Perry’s Manager Bradford Cobb in order to take her career to the next level. Selena Gomez, 21, has taken one more step to improving her career by hiring Katy Perry’s manager Bradford Cobb. There had been many rumors surrounding who she was going to pick after firing her parents in April, but all have since fallen away due to this news, and several other major events in Selena’s life.
Selena Gomez Hires Katy Perry’s Manager After Firing Parents. Bradford was listed as one of Billboard’s 40 executives under 40 in July 2013, reports Us Weekly. The long time manager has spent more than a decade in the industry and was one of the driving forces behind making Katy Perry a household name. ’For me, it’s really about the team,’ Cobb revealed to Billboard. ‘Everyone at Direct Management Group works on all of the clients, and we build the right team for each artist.’
This decision by Selena to choose Bradford has been a long time coming. It started way back in December 2013 when Selena cancelled her Australian tour and quietly checked into rehab. The following January Selena reconnected with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. In March they made things official by rekindling their romance in Texas. The two met up for a hot date, first by going to Starbucks, and then going to local restaurant Don Pepe’s.
By April the two were very much in love and on April 10 it was reported that Selena had fired her parents as her managers! Getting back with Justin never sat well with mom and dad. During the Easter holiday weekend both hung out at Coachella in Indio Calif., on April 19. Selena chose to spend the majority of the time with her two new BFFs, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner.
Rumors about Selena possibly using Kris Jenner as her new manager even began to pop up. Additionally, rumors about possibly joining Justin’s camp were on the rise as well.
However, soon after Coachella ended the relationships with all three stopped cold. Selena began axing people out of her life left and right, believing that they were a ‘toxic’ influence, and unfriended many former pals on Twitter and Instagram. Now she’s finally chosen a new manager. All the pieces of the ‘Selena trying to get her life together’ puzzle seem to be falling into place, but only time will tell if she’s finally made the right move. What do you think HollywoodLifers, is this a good move for Selena, or is she taking the wrong step in her career? Tell us what you think.
