NOWSHERA - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) Chief Maulana Samiul Haq said on Sunday that those talking about military operations were enemy of Pakistan.

"Religious seminaries and Ulema were backing peace talks with Taliban," this he said while addressing a conference held at Darul-Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak district Nowshera.

Sami said that Pakistan was confronted with many challenges and those talking about military operations were enemies of the country. The optimistic Maulana Sami said that peace would be restored only through talks.

He said that talks between government and Taliban's shura would begin in a day or two asking both the sides to build trust. He said that whole world wanted that there should be no peace in Pakistan, which is the basic issue of the country.

He informed that in India BJP is going to be in power in near future while a government in Afghanistan was also due to change soon. In this situation Pakistan's army is the defender of the country.

Sami-ul-Haq said that if government and army are on the same page then why they are not able to maintain peace.

He claimed that the media and anchorpersons were advocating war while scholars were backing peace talks.

Addressing the conference the JUI-F's Ameer Maulana Fazl Rehman, while endorsing peace efforts said he and JUI-S chief are on the same page regarding talks with Taliban. He said that peace not war is preached in religious seminaries adding that certain elements are hatching conspiracies against madaris, but that would be foiled at all.
