RAWALPINDI  - Thanks to superb performances by Anorina and Eman, favourites Young Rising Star Women Football Club thrashed Soccer Queen Football Club 4-0 in the final to win the National U-16 Inter-Club Women Football Championship 2014, the final was played at Divisional Public School Football Ground on Sunday.

As per expectations, YRFC were too strong for the Soccer Queen girls, who never looked like posing any threat to YRFC goal in the entire match. They hardly managed to even take the ball in opponent's goal.

YRFC started the first half at very fast pace but it took them 17 minutes to open the account as Anorina scored a superb field goal. Anees Bibi of Soccer Queen was cautioned and given yellow card in the 20th minute for a dangerous tackle, YRFC took full advantage from the situation, as Eman Maqsood doubled her team's lead in the 23rd minute with a superbly taken free kick from 20 yards while Anorina scored her second and team's third goal on the stroke of half time.

Second half started in a whirlwind fashion. YRFC were in no mood to let their opponents off the hook. Eman was once again the goal scorer in the 43rd minute. But after that both teams were reduced to 10-players Maha of YRFC and Anees Bibi of Soccer Queen were sent off the field after receiving second yellow card of the match.

Young Rising Star were awarded Rs 75,000 cash along with a glittering trophy. Soccer Queen were handed over Rs 50,000 along with runners up trophy. Individual cash prizes of Rs5000 each along with trophies were also given to the best player Emama Arif of Soccer Queen, best goal keeper Numrica of Young Rising Star, and best scorer award to Eman Maqqsood and Anorina both from Young Rising Club. Fair play trophy went to Diya WFC (KHI) who were given Rs 10,000 cash and trophy.

District Coordination Officer Rawalpindi, Sajid Zafar Dal was the chief guest on the occasion. Pakistan Football Federation Women Wing Chairperson Senator Rubina Irfan for the third time let the federation down, as despite making promises, she doesn't bother to watch the young talent of the country in action. PFF secretary Col (R) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi, DSO Abdul Waheed Babar, PFF Director Youth Development Irfan Khan Niazi, Shah Manzar Fareed along with other dignitaries and large crowd was present on the final.
