LAHORE - University of Central Punjab (UCP) recorded a crushing 119-run win over the Government College of Sciences (GCS) in the Red Bull Campus Cricket 2015 match staged at the Ali Garh Cricket ground.
Batting first, UCP posted 158-9 in the allotted 20 overs. M Mohsin slammed 51 runs off 34 balls hitting two fours and one six. Ali Raza bowled brilliantly claiming five wickets. The GCS team was sent packing for 39 runs only as UCP bowlers wreaked havoc. Aftab Azwer took four while Ali Tipu and Salman Agha took three wickets each. Only Huzaifa Khalid (17) reached double figures. Aftab was named man of the match.
Earlier in the day, UET recorded a nail-biting win against Leads University in a high scoring match. Batting first, Leads University scored 168-5 in 20 overs. Jabbar Ali hammered 77 runs. A fine all-round batting effort helped UET reached the target with two balls to spare. Ali Zaib scored 45, Samar Abbas 39 and M Iqbal 37. Iqbal was named man of the match.
