ISLAMABAD - The federal government has decided to allocate billions of rupees for over 79 new road projects under the PSDP 2018-19, the budget documents suggest.

A total of Rs14.4 billion have been allocated for the Communication Division (other than NHA) in the PSDP. A big amount of Rs5 billion has been allocated for the projects under Karachi Package. Rs2500 million have been allocated for the construction of Expressway from Basham to Khwaza Khela (62-km), Rs2500m have been allocated for the construction of expressway from Chakdara to Kalam (133-km), Rs5000m have been allocated for the construction of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway via Narang Mandi to Narowal (73-km), Rs2000m have been allocated for the construction of Malakand Tunnel, Rs1000 have been allocated for the construction of new bridge on River Chanab between Shujaabad (Multan) and Khangarh (Muzaffargarh), Rs2,500m have been allocated for the construction of new bridge with approach roads between Sukkar-Rohri bridge over River Indus, and Rs 1000m have been allocated for the construction of Peshawqar-Torkham section of Peshawar-Kabul motorway.

Similarly, an amount of Rs750 million has been allocated for the construction of road from Panjgoor to Garavage (Pak-Iran border) (40-km), Rs1000 have been allocated for the construction of road from Sambrial-Kharian motorway, Rs 1000 million have been allocated for the construction of Ziarat Mor-Kach-Harnai road (107-km) and Harnai-Sanjavi road (55-km), Rs1500 million have been allocated for the dualisation of Kallar-Manianda road Tehsil Kallar district Rawalpindi, Rs1000 million for dualisation of Kharian to Rawalpindi motorway, Rs5000 million have been allocated for the dualisation of Rawalpindi-Kahuta road (28-km), Rs1000 million for the dualisation of Sialkot-Pasrur road (26-km), Rs1000 million have been allocated for the construction of Mirpur-Mangla-Muzaffarabad-Mansehra road (CPEC), Rs1000 million have been allocated for the rehabilitation of KKH between Thakot-Raikot section including Tatapani bypass (CPEC) and Rs1000m for Sukkar-Hyderabad section (296km).
