“Allah’s biggest leaders were his prophets. Those who were the prophets of God went to the people and carried forward Allah’s message. You ought to take my message to the people”, he told party men while addressing a workers’ convention at Aiwan-e-Iqbal here.
In the social media, the former prime minister’s remarks about the prophets of God who communicated His message to the people and latter telling his supporters to take his (Khan’s) message to the people invited ire of the people with many raising questions about what he was trying to say. “To whom was he trying to liken him with”, many asked. In a tweet, a senior journalist asked Dr Shirin Mazari to explain her party chief’s remarks. Imran Khan said it was a defining moment for the country as the nation was standing at a crossroad and there was need to wage a struggle to achieve what he called “true independence” from slavery.
The PTI chairman said he wanted at least two million people to gather in Islamabad on his call to press for early elections in the country. Calling the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja a “PML-N’s agent”, Khan sought his resignation saying that Raja had lost the right to serve on the post. He alleged that Raja was making important decisions alone which were against the PTI. He also reiterated his party’s demand that the foreign funding cases against all major political parties should be heard together. He saw conspiracy in the foreign funding case as he maintained that an evidence was forged against the PTI. In reiteration of his narrative of foreign conspiracy against his government, the former prime minister said he was ousted due to his independent foreign policy. He said an imported government had been imposed on Pakistan under a foreign conspiracy as the conspirators found collaborators here in the form of “Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq”.

He wondered that a conspiracy was hatched to oust him despite the country’s current account deficit being at an 11-year low. Imran believed that turncoats who became part of the conspiracy were not aware of it, but they sold their conscience for Rs200-250 million. He said the United States will control the imported government through the “three stooges and cherry blossom”. He said the present corrupt rulers will enslave the country to cover their corruption. Khan demanded action against PML-N supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif, PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman for being part of the conspiracy and urged the courts to hear the case daily.
The PTI chairman claimed the incumbent government was now seeking a second NRO as cases against their ministers will be closed and they will indulge in corruption again. The PTI chairman also announced a prayer ceremony to be held on 27th of Ramazan which will be attended by noted religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil. Imran also lambasted the purported media blackout of the PTI on mainstream TV channels and questioned why the defenders of press freedom were not standing up against it.
