MQM to back Musharraf trial

MQM MNA Wasim Akhtar has said that his party will back any Constitutional resolution if tabled in National Assembly against former President Pervez Musharraf. Talking to a private TV channel, Wasim said that his party would cooperate if Article 6 was invoked against Pervez Musharraf for the steps he took after October 12, 1999. He further said that the MQM would cooperate if any Constitutional resolution was tabled in the House to undo 17th Amendment and Article 58-2(b). PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal welcomed the statement and said, 'Awami National Party, FATA members and now MQM have agreed to PML-Ns stance regarding Musharrafs trial and 17th Amendment. He further said that now the PPP had to decide and come up with a clear stance in this connection. PPP Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab said that if any resolution was tabled by the PML-N in this connection, then her party would decide either to back it or not.
