BUREWALA - Pakistan People's Party (PPP) District President and MNA Mahmood Hayat Khan Tochi has said that the PPP is party of the federation and its leadership always strive to serve the masses and sacrificed their lives for the solidarity and integrity of the country.

He was addressing an 'Eid Milan' party at Mujahid Colony arranged by PPP City President Rao Faryad Ali Khan and Col (r) Rao Abid Ali Khan here the other night.  Former nazim Nazir Ahmad Jatt, PPP MNA Asghar Ali Jatt, Advocate Fiaz Azeem, Abdul Majeed Bhatti, Capt (r) Muhammad Ismail, Ghulam Haider Jatt, and others addressed the participants.

The PPP stalwart said that the federal government had set up commission to form South Punjab province and within two month new province would emerge on the map of the province.

"The PPP has introduced a culture of tolerance, co-existence and respecting others' point of view," he said.

He said that the government was following the policy of reconciliation according to the vision of former premiere Benazir Bhutto to strengthen the democracy. He said that the PPP did not believe in the politics of victimisation and confrontation, adding that it was evident from the fact that there was not a single political prisoner in the country presently. Tochi Khan pointed out that better law and order situation was needed to hold general elections in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, former MNA Nazir Ahmad Jatt said that he had been serving people of the area and making all-out efforts for the betterment of their livelihood, adding that he, with the blessing of Almighty Allah would continue to do so in the future.  He said that ongoing project of the sui gas supply, clean drinking water and sewerage would be completed soon.

On the occasion, PPP local leader Col (r) Abid Ali Khan thanked the people of the area and affirmed his firm commitment to serve the masses.

YOUTH CRUSHED TO DEATH: A youth was crushed to death by a trailer on Chichawatni Road here the other day. Muhammad Shafique Jatt, a resident of Chak No-429/EB was going to his village on his motorcycle. Meanwhile, a speeding trailer hit the bike on Chichawatni Road. As a result, he died on the spot.

Rescue 1122 attended to 165 emergencies: Divisional Emergency Officer Dr Malik Asif Rahim Channar said that situation remained under control during Eid holidays. No unpleasant incident was reported in any part of the district.

Speaking at a press briefing, he said that Rescue 1122 dealt with 165 emergencies in the district - 85 traffic accidents, 11 scuffles, 57 medical and some other emergencies. During the period, Rescue 1122 saved 162 personnel out of which 24 people were given first aid on the spot.

 and 138 were carried to Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur.

The DEO pointed out that Eid congregation places were specially focused. For this purpose special points were established throughout the district to respond to any emergency," he added.
