Seminars planned over dengue virus

RAWALPINDI - The Community Safety, Information and Training Wing of Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi, has started conducting awareness seminars against dengue virus in Rawalpindi district.
In this regard, the first seminar would be held at Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) Headquarters, Islamabad today.
A total of 23 officials of the ERRA headquarters would be sensitized about dengue virus threats, sign and symptoms, management, preventions possible places of occurrence, spread of dengue virus, diet for dengue victims etc by rescue trainers under supervision of Deeba Shahnaz Akhter, Emergency Officer Community Training, informed Rescue 1122 spokesman here on Monday.
The ERRA officials would also be trained on Basic Life Support and Fire Safety Orientation Course for two days through presentation of practical skills and mock exercise to deal with any untoward incident. The participants of Basic Life Support & Fire Safety Orientation course from ERRA would be evaluated for emergency management skills at the end of two days course through written and practical test only passing participants with 70 per cent marks would be certified for the course, he added.
District Emergency Officer (DEO) Rescue 1122 Dr Abdur Rahman, in a statement, said that Community Safety Information and Training Wing would raise information regarding dengue virus to maximum community through such training sessions, seminars and awareness walks to minimize the risk of dengue virus.
