SARGODHA - Two criminals involved in dacoity-cum-murder were killed in a shootout at Jhawarian here the other day.

Police said that some 10 to 12 bandits stormed into the house of Muhammad Khan in village Jhawarian, 35-km north from here.  On hearing hue and cry, a neighbour Rab Nawaz attempted to help the victims but the bandits opened fire and killed him at the spot.

They snatched gold ornaments, cash and clothes from the family and managed to good escape.  On the information, the police radioed a wireless call and cordoned off the area.

At 02:15pm, the police received another information, that the robbers had snatched a motorcycle from Muhammad Khan at Jhok Nangiani. A police party was already chasing the criminals spotted the robbers at Ghangwal Morr and killed both in cross-firing after hot pursuit.

The bodies were later identified as Saqlain Abbas Bujhal, son of Muhammad Younas, a resident of Head Faqirian and Ilyas Lak, son of Azam of Lak Morr.

The police recovered one Kalashnikov, two pistols, empty bullets, snatched motorcycle lying besides the bodies.

The victims of dacoity-cum-murder and robbery recognized both the dacoits. The police raids are underway to arrest their accomplices Manu Tarar and Sikandar Bujhal.
