MULTAN - Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf on Monday said that international cricket would be revived soon in Pakistan as the sincere efforts were being made in this regard.
Talking to the journalists here at Multan Cricket Stadium, he said that Indian team would also visit Pakistan after Pakistan tour to India. "We haven't given up in the past and even yet our endeavours continue to restore international cricket. India tour is outcome of our efforts," he said.
“The Pakistan tour of Bangladesh team was final but they refused to come at the eleventh hour for security concerns while other teams also used the same pretext. God willing, we'll soon succeed to revive international cricket in Pakistan," he added.
To a query on chances of any tournament on IPL pattern, he said that soon a T20 league would be held. “Multan is a suitable place for holding National Twenty20 event.” To another query, he said that he also regretted the defeat of Pakistan U-19 team but efforts would be made to improve its performance in future.
He said that all out efforts were being made to improve the performance of regional cricket associations and his visit was also part of this vision. Earlier, the Chairman PCB inaugurated Multan Cricket Academy. Director National Academy Intikhab Alam, Director Domestic Cricket Zakir Khan and other PCB officials were also present on this occasion.
