Govt, opp up to nothing Journalist torture

Lahore - Instead of doing something to avert the torture of journalists outside the Punjab Assembly, the opposition and treasury flung insult at each other on Tuesday.
The proceedings started one hour behind the schedule while journalists boycotted the sitting to protest against the torture of journalists. Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal asked two members –one from treasury and another from opposition – woo journalists back. After an FIR registered against PTI Punjab Chapter President Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhary and other workers of the party, the journalists ended their strike and came back to press gallery.
On a point of order, Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed said the PIT had already apologised over the incident and they would punish the people responsible for the attack. However, Rasheed could not name any attacker.
Rana Sanaullah said the opposition should produce the culprits otherwise the PTI had to face raids at their homes. He said four people were named in the FIR, including PTI Punjab President Ijaz Chaudhry.
Opposition members chanted slogans against treasury members and said that it was responsible of such incident. They said the government had lodged an FIR against local TV journalists in Balochistan but no one could raise voice against it.
He said PTI strongly condemned the government for registering FIR against tv workers.

On other hand, the treasury members called the opposition responsible of the chaos. One female of the treasury members took a placard inscribed with a strict slogan against PTI. Upon which the speaker took the notice and as a sign of punishment he sent the female member out of the house for five minutes.
The house proceedings adjourned till Wednesday (today) but no one could present any strategy or idea to suggest the house in order to stop any such torture incident on journalist.
Outside the Punjab Assembly, PTI leader Mian Muhammad Aslam alleged the government has been cashing in on the situation to divert the attention from its  legislations lick the Local Government Bill 2013. The house also took up the matter of Special Education Department.
