ISLAMABAD : German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) organized an International Open Day in Berlin. About 50 Embassies based in Berlin set up their stall showcasing traditional and cultural items of public interest from their respective countries. Pakistan Embassy put on display handicrafts of wood and marble, embroidered clothes, accessories besides books and brochures on Pakistan. A special corner was also set up in the stall to show case Pakistani mangoes.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany Mr. Abdul Basit visited the stall along with his family and interacted with the visitors of the stall.
He welcomed German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Mr. Dirk Niebel who visited the Pakistan Stall. The minister recalled his visit to Pakistan in 2011 and appreciated the vibrancy of Pakistani society  
Mr. Niebel was served with slices of Pakistani mangoes. After eating, he remarked, “it is delicious and sweet”. A box of Pakistani mangoes was also presented to him by the Ambassador.
People from different international communities and German citizens visited Pakistani Stall and took keen interest in items like traditional dresses, embroidered bags and pouches. They were served with Samosas, Pakoras and slices of Pakistani mangoes.
