ISLAMABAD – Pakistan women hockey team player Marrium Mansha’s participation in the upcoming Asian Women Hockey Challenge Cup is in jeopardy due to visa issues. The passports of 25 players and officials were sent to Thailand’s Embassy for visa process and all of them got visas except Marrium. The reason was her passport validity which is to expire on Jan 14 next year and according to Thailand visa rules, nobody will get visa unless minimum of six months left on expiry of passport. When contacted, team manager Parveen Sikander Gill said: “The relevant department assumed that the passport expiry date is June 30, 2014 that is the main reason this untoward incident occurred. We are trying to arrange urgent passport for her and the issue will be resolved amicably.” –Staff Reporter
