PTI Sialkot office-bearers accused the government of adopting inhuman attitude against the 143 PTI and PAT activists detained in Sialkot District Jail almost two weeks ago.
Addressing a press conference, PTI leaders Shamshad Ahmed Bajwa Advocate, Khawaja Arif Ahmed Advocate and Mian Shakeel Ahmed Advocate said that the government had detained the activists to halt them from attending the Azadi March and Inqilab March. They said that the activists had been detained in the cells meant for the convicted persons for death sentence and no facility was being provided to them there. They urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of the inhuman treatment with the activists.
12 ACTIVISTS RELEASED: The district administration has released 12 aged persons from Sialkot district, after their two week-long detention. The activists include Malik Muhammad Iqbal (61), Muhammad Rafiq (60), Muhammad Muneer (62), Iqbal Hussain (70), Atta Ullah (69), Muhammad Rafiq Mir (65), Haji Muhammad Khalid (62), Muhammad Rafiq (68) and Allah Rakha (63).
ARREST: Pasrur police arrested accused rapist Shehzad, who allegedly raped a labourer’s six-year-old daughter in Mughalpura locality here on Tuesday. Police have sent the accused behind bars. Further investigations are underway. Meanwhile, the condition of the “ill-fated” victim was stated to be very critical at Pasrur THQ Hospital.
