The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s sit-in entered fourth day at Shikrani Chowk where a number of activists expressed their solidarity with Islamabad protesters while a government official praised the government and flayed the PTI and PAT sit-ins.

The PTI activists chanted slogans against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and asked him to resign from his office as “mass rigging in general elections 2013 had been exposed”.

Tehsil President Abdul Basit Shikrani, District Vice President Munir Malik, Iqbal Danish and Tariq Iqbal alleged that the Sharif brothers of ruling the country as their Ittefaq Foundry. They stated that the people of Pakistan wanted to get rid of dynastic politics. They vowed to continue their struggle for the restoration of true democracy in the country.

On the other side, Chief Minister Punjab IDPs Committee Co-Chairman Qazi Adnan Farid said that the Punjab government had distributed Rs350.242 million to internally displaced persons.

The official said that a total of 51,555 IDPs were registered out of which 49,434 were paid total 96 percent amount of Rs350.242 so far while remaining Rs15.029 will be paid to 2,121 others without any delay.

To a question, he said that the government was paying Rs70,000 to each registered IDP. He paid rich tributes to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif who collected donations from philanthropists throughout the province and constituted the committee. He said that basically it was moral and official duty of PTI Chairman Imran Khan to support IDPs as his party was ruling Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province where they had been displaced in Zarb-e-Azb Operation.

He lashed out at Imran Khan for staging a sit-in in Islamabad. He said that due to “negative” attitude of Imran Khan was isolated in the national politics while 10 parliamentary committees have fully endorsed the government stance and opposed the tendering of Premier Nawaz Sharif’s resignation. He termed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif a dedicated and honest national leader who is striving hard to steer the country out of political crisis. He also reposed his full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
