PESHAWAR (APP): Chairman Pakistan Flour Mills Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Anees Ashraf on Wednesday said that Pesco authorities have excessively increased power tariff in the name of tax and fuel adjustment. Flour Mills Industry is facing crises due to the huge tax while the price of the commodity has gone out of reach of the general public. The Chairman was speaking in a meeting.  The executive committee members said all products of flour mills are exempted from ST but Pesco is charging it in bills resulting in price hike of Rs. 30 on every 20 kg flour bag.
The members demanded of the government to remove extra tax being charged in the name of fuel adjustment and sales tax from power bills and save the industry from crisis.
The meeting decided to import wheat from the international market due to its shortage in the province. Executive Members including Naeem Butt, Sartaj Ali Khan, Haji Musarrat Shah, Haji Meraj, Malik Iftikhar Awan and others were present on the occasion.
