ISLAMABAD: Following highly volatile political situation in the country, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has cancelled his today’s visit to Turkey, reported a private TV channel Wednesday.

Staff Reporter adds: Nawaz was scheduled to leave for Ankara to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Recep Tayyip Erdogan as President of Turkey.

The government officials had informed that the premier’s visit is tentatively final and it greatly depends on the developments back home. But following the political development due to the ongoing protests marches of the PTI and PAT, the PM revisited his decision. Now, President Mamnoon Hussain will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatami was also scheduled to accompany the premier in the two days visit. Heads of governments and heads of states from well over a dozen friendly states would be attending the ceremony.         –Monitoring Desk
