Police smash gangs, arrest seven ‘robbers’

The Burewala police claimed to have smashed seven inter-district dacoit’s gangs of robbers by arresting its ringleaders involved in several cases of armed robberies. The police have also recovered booty worth of millions of rupees from their possession.
“We have nabbed three members of the notorious gangs. These robbers had become a symbol of terror in the entire locality as they had been committing armed dacoities during night hours,” District Police Officer DPO Sadiq Ali Dogar told reporters while addressing a news conference.
The DPO said that the Circle Police led by DSP Zulfiqar Ali arrested seven dacoits who confessed committed robberies in Faisalbad, Sahiwal, TT Singh, Abdul Hakim, Jhang and Karachi.
The police also recovered gold ornaments, motorcycles, car and other valuables worth million of rupees from their procession.
He said that the police killed three proclaimed offenders during a shootout and also arrested three accused involved in rape incident with a student Akashatul Muntaha at Chak No 146/EB.
