MULTAN : A police investigation committee yesterday suspended three SHOs and six other policemen for allegedly torturing the Chinese engineers engaged in development work of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

A two-member committee, headed by Additional Inspector General (AIG) KB Awan, was constituted after the statements of the Chinese engineers who were subjected to torture by the Multan police recorded.

The investigation committee declared Multan CPO Azhar Ikram responsible for the occurrence. Over the findings of the committee, three SHOs among nine policemen were suspended while further investigation is in progress.
