The process of filing of nomination papers for by-elections in 37 constituencies of National and Provincial Assemblies has been started that would continue till August 30.
According to media reports, by-polls in 11 constituencies of National Assembly and 24 constituencies of provincial assemblies would be held on October 14 across the country.
However, nomination papers by candidates for contesting by-polls would be submitted from August 28 to August 30 under Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rule after which initial list of candidates will be issued on August 31st.
On the other hand, scrutiny of nomination papers will be carried out till September 4 besides issuance of the revised list of candidates on September 14 as per schedule of the ECP.
Candidates would be able to take their nomination papers back till September 15 while the final list would be issued on September 16 after allotment of electoral symbols.
It is vital to mention here that elections had been postponed in 2 constituenciesТ of National and 7 constituencies of provincial assemblies, however, 28 seats were left vacant by winning candidates after July 25th general elections 2018.
However, the constituencies at which by-polls would be conducted on October 14 include NA-35-Bannu, NA-53 Islamabad, NA-56 Attock, NA-60 Rawalpindi, NA-63 Rawalpindi, NA-65 Chakwal, NA-69 Gujrat, NA-103 Faisalabad, NA-124 Lahore, NA-131 Lahore and NA-243 Karachi while PP3, PP-27, PP-87, PP-103,PP-118, PP-PP-164, PP-165,PP- 201,PP- 222,PP- 261,PP- 272,PP- 292 and PP- 296 of Punjab Assembly, PS-30, PS-87 of Sindh Assembly, PB-35, PB-40 of Balochistan Assembly and PK-3, PK-7, PK-44, PK-53, PK-61, PK-64, PK-78, PK97, PK-99 of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
