New service rules for Punjab Medical Faculty approved

LAHORE - Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Saqib Zafar chaired a meeting of governing body of the Punjab Medical Faculty (PMF) on Monday.

Vice President of PMF Dr Salman Shahid, CEO of Mayo Hospital Prof Asad Aslam Khan, Dr Irfan Ahmed, Dr Seema Imdad, Dr Ahmed Nadeem, Dr Irfan Ahmed, Dr Muneeb Ashraf, Khadija Ismail, Dr Khalid Lateef and others members attended the meeting.

The meeting constituted two committees for designing courses for anesthesia technicians. The meeting also approved new service rules for PMF.

Saqib Zafar directed convening governing body meetings on regular basis.

Dr Salman Shahid said that PMF has issued more than 90,000 certificates and diplomas till today. PMF is offering diplomas in public health, medical laboratory, radiology and medical imaging along with operation theatre, physiotherapy, renal dialysis, ophthalmic and nuclear medicine. He said that 13210 seats have been allocated for different courses. In 2018, as many as 65 institutions have applied for affiliation with PMF, he said.
