A pile-up involving 14 cars and lorries at Charsadda-Peshawar Motorway caused by dense fog killed four persons and injured at least 16 others, reported a private TV channel. Police said the accident occurred 6km away from Charsadda. Two people were killed on the spot while the injured were shifted to the DHQ Charsadda and other Peshawar hospitals. Two of them succumbed to their injuries later on, police said. Traffic on the Charsadda-Peshawar Motorway was totally paralyzed shortly after the fog fell and caused a series of accidents. I couldnt see anything and didnt have a second to press the brake, said a driver, who suffered a head injury in a crash. The motorway police and local administration with the help of Rescue 1122 opened the motorway after hectic efforts. Freezing conditions and heavy snow is causing problems to the motorists on the Motorway in some parts of KP and Punjab.
