ISLAMABAD(APP) - Terming terrorism as the biggest challenge facing Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said this menace was impeding the countrys economic growth and prosperity. 'Growing population and less economic growth are the issues faced by the country at present, but terrorism is a major challenge, which impedes economic growth and prosperity of the coming generation, Zardari said in interview with CNBC television aired on Monday night. The President, however, expressed the confidence that 'Pakistani nation will face all the challenges including population growth and it will not only come out of this crisis but will make a better Pakistan. 'We are on a difficult journey, he said ,adding, 'during nation-building we should not have relied on aid but on trade which should have strengthened Pakistan and everybody would have contributed to the countrys development. The President said Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was a popular leader who was respected by people and she got an unprecedented welcome on her return to Pakistan on October 18, 2007. To a question, the President said a specific ideology killed Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto but 'we will avenge her death by changing the system. He said those who hanged Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto admitted their actions but Benazir Bhutto never went for revenge against them. Zardari said he wanted the enemies of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to see how democracy is flourishing in Pakistan. The President said he and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had prepared the children to live without them. The children used to live without them, when he and her wife were away, he said.
