Police solve ‘whodunit’ murder of couple



SIALKOT - The police claimed to have solved the ‘whodunit’ blind murder of a couple just after four days of the incident. District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ali Mohsin made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at Sialkot Press Club here on Tuesday.
SP (Investigations) Nasir Munif Qureshi was also present on the occasion.
The DPO claimed that accused Shamas Tariq had killed his stepdaughter Tayyuba and her husband Tariq Mehmood alias Pappu in Sialkot city’s congested Naikapura locality here on December 22. He narrated that the accused had a bad eye on his stepdaughter Tayyaba for some time.
He with connivance of his friend namely Imtiaz gave some intoxicants to the couple in burgers due to which they fell unconscious in the night of the incident. The accused told the newsmen that later they strangulated both Tayyaba Bibi and her husband Tariq there. Later, the accused tried to paint teh the brutal murders as dacoity incident. The accused also admitted that he had a bad eye on his stepdaughter.
The DPO said that the police investigated the incident on scientific lines and solved the mystery effectively.
