Learn a lesson from Fall of Dhaka, BNP tells rulers

SADIQABAD - Balochistan National Party acting President Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini criticised the government's policies on Balochistan, saying that the Pakistani rulers should learn their lesson from the disintegration of Dhaka.
Accompanied by former MNA Abdul Rauf Mangal, Nawab Amanullah Zehri and Mina Abdul Khaliq Rehmani, the acting president was talking to political and social delegations at the residence of Mr Rehmani at Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Rahim Yar Khan. Since the establishment of Pakistan, the Pakistani governments had been meting out cruelty to Balochistan, he said, adding that the same circumstances were created in the East Pakistan whereupon the country was divided and Bangladesh came into being. He alleged that the mineral resources of the province had been grabbed by Islamabad thereby depriving Balochistan of development and bogging it down in quagmire of problems.
"The rulers should learn their lesson from the past otherwise the Baloch people know how to take bold steps for their rights. Since the creation of Pakistan, a group of selfish people has been running the country to save their vested interest and please their foreign masters," he added.
"The income of Balochistan's resources is being received by the rulers in Islamabad. Therefore, the Baloch people had stepped in to snatch their rights. We are being termed traitors for demanding our rights whereas we are the true patriotic and always remain prepared to make any sacrifice for the country, he said.  "In order to eliminate the Baloch people from the ground, conspiracies are being hatched."
He further said that the Baloch nation was not an enemy of the Punjab, Pashtoon and Sindhi rather we are brothers. However, the rulers are creating differences among the Baloch and other people in the coutnry, he added. On the occasion, Mian Abdul Khaliq said that bilateral relations between Balochistan and the Seraiki region have been established for a long time. "We always felt the pain of Baloch people. The resolution to their problem is our priority and we will continue to raise our voice for this purpose at every platform," he added. Later, Mian hosted a luncheon in honour of the Baloch leaders.
