The people of Kashmir celebrated the birthday of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with great enthusiasm coupled with the renewal of pledge to continue struggle for freedom of Held-Kashmir and also for making Pakistan prosperous.

The day dawned with special prayers in the mosques throughout AJK for the integrity, solidarity, progress and prosperity of Pakistan and for the early success of the Kashmir freedom movement.

In Mirpur, the major ceremony was held under the auspices of J&K Liberation League at the resident of the party’s President Justice (r) Abdul Majeed Mallick. The ceremony was largely attended by people from various sections of life including lawyers, journalists, members of the business community, poets, scholars and the party workers.

Addressing the seminar, speakers including JKLL President Abdul Majeed Mallick, District President Shahid Majeed Mallick, ex-secretary information Shoukat Majeed Mallick, Munir Hussain Advocate, Rao Hassan Ejaz and Humayun Zaman Mirza paid rich tributes to Quaid-i-Azam for his unprecedented services for the Muslims.

They said that the best way to pay rich tributes to Quaid-i-Azam is to continue his mission with national spirit for making Pakistan prosperous and developed as envisioned by the father of the nation. They reiterated the resolve to continue to follow the policy of father of the nation on Kashmir issue.

Special ceremonies to celebrate the birthday of Quaid-i-Azam held in all the 10 districts as well as the subordinate tehsil headquarters of Azad Jammu Kashmir including the state metropolis Muzaffarabad were the hallmark of the day. Various social, political and intellectual organizations held special programmes to celebrate the day.

Birthday cakes were cut in these ceremonies to celebrate the historic day amid clapping by the jubilant participants and voicing “Happy birth day to Quaid-i-Azam”.

Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Tararkheil radio stations aired special programmes highlighting the great personality of Quaid-i-Azam and his meritorious and remarkable services for the emergence of the separate home land for Muslims of the Subcontinent.

The speakers paid glorious tributes to the founder of Pakistan besides highlighting his hectic life, ideas and achievements which led to the establishment of the separate homeland for the Muslims.

In a similar ceremony held by the senior journalists, speakers said that Pakistan is incomplete without its jugular vein Kashmir and the people of Jammu & Kashmir would continue their freedom struggle for the liberation of occupied Jammu Kashmir from the Indian hold. They also reiterated the resolve to continue following the policy articulated by Quaid-i-Azam on Jammu & Kashmir. At other parts of AJK and Pakistan, the day was celebrated under the auspices of various social and political organisations.
