Mariah Carey has topped Spotify's list of the most-streamed Christmas songs for 2015. The singer's beloved track, 'All I Want for Christmas Is You', racked up a global total of 13.5M plays over the past week; with Spotify announcing it had been streamed over 100M times so far.

Though Spotify's been relegated to a rather controversial position in the music industry following the high profile departure of Taylor Swift's music from their catalogues, The Guardian estimates Carey's track has generated around $66K over the Christmas period. Not too shabby for a song first released in 1994.

Hollywood is a fickle place where the popularity of the stars we love (and love to hate) can drop faster than Khloé Kardashian’s dress size. But in 2015, these celebs showed it’s possible to rebound and prove the critics wrong.

It’s been quite a year for the reigning “Queen of Christmas.” After six years of marriage and two kids, the 45-year-old hit-maker finalised her divorce from Nick Cannon in January but quickly rebounded with Australian billionaire James Packer.

Last December the diva angered fans and network execs for skipping a pre-taped appearance on the annual Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony. But this year Carey inked an impressive $41.1 million AUD Vegas residency deal and rocked a series of sold-out Christmas shows at the Beacon Theatre in NYC, plus Billboard ranked her 1994 holiday tune All I Want for Christmas Is You, at No. 18 on the Hot 100 chart for Jan. 2, 2016 - its highest position to date. Getting the call to star in Mariah Carey's TV movie directorial debut, a Christmas melody was one of the best birthday presents mean girls star Lacey Chabert ever received.

The actress learned she'd landed the role as a divorced single mum on her birthday, and Carey called her personally to congratulate her. "She left me a voicemail," Chabert tells TV Guide. "It was the sweetest message, and she sang me 'Happy Birthday'. I've listened to it a thousand times and played it for everybody I know." But the actress admits meeting her pop idol for the first time and then working with her really tested her nerves.

"We went to have dinner with her and the producers," Chabert adds. "I was so nervous on the car ride over that I touched up my makeup, like, 17 times - because I'm a legit fan. But she's so nice and warm. "When I was shooting scenes with her, I didn't forget that she's Mariah Carey, but I was at ease."
