PESHAWAR - Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao Sunday said that an improved bilateral relation between Pakistan and Afghanistan was the need of the hour.

The Pakhtun population can be brought on the track of development and prosperity only after there is friendly and cordial relationship between the two neighbouring states.

He expressed these remarks during a joining ceremony in District Buner where prominent leader of PML-N Bakht Biland Khan and Amir Sultan Khan left the party and joined QWP. Sherpao added that the recent visit of Pakhtun leadership to Kabul was meaningful because it helped in normalization of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He emphasized on the importance of peace and said that Pakhtuns living on the both sides of the border had been passing through unpleasant circumstances for the last three and half decades.

He, on the occasion, also reiterated his stance and asked the federal government to establish a trust for the heirs of terror victims in order to meet their education, health and other necessities of life.

Talking about the alleged tag-of-war between federal and provincial governments in Sindh province, he said both the governments should work together to find out a solution to the issues being faced by the common people.
