LAHORE - TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh Sunday said that Southern Punjab is full of agriculture and live-stock resources. This area is also expert in embroidery and hand made products. Contributions of female for the promotion of this sector cannot be denied in this regard.

Latest vocational training as well as marketing is the dire need for these products, at present. In order to achieve the target, Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) is doing its full efforts to further introduce these products and present the soft image of Pakistan in the world.

He was addressing on the occasion of agreement signing ceremony between TEVTA and Southern Punjab Embroidery Industries, Multan at TEVTA Secretariat. This agreement was signed by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and Chairman Southern Punjab Embroidery Industries Multan Nasir Saleem Chaudhary. Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Jawad Ahmad Qureshi and other TEVTA officers were also present on this occasion.

Irfan Qaiser Sheikh in his address on this occasion said that it is very important for the youth because technical hands never remain unemployed. Youth should become skillful to reduce unemployment in the province of the Punjab. Job opportunities will surely be available after completion of their technical and vocational training. Pakistan’s industrial and agricultural development also depends on the availability of skilled manpower.

Chairperson TEVTA further said that industrial stitching machine operator course will be started next month in the premises of Southern Punjab Embroidery Industries in Multan. This course has been started on the demand of garment sector at this area. TEVTA will provide training curricula. Scholarship will be given to the trainees during training. Training activities will be monitored through an independent 3rd party monitoring firm to ensure quality skills training delivery to the trainees. No fee will be charged from the trainees. TEVTA will bear the expenses for the trainees. Punjab Board of Technical Education will provide certificates to pass-outs. Southern Punjab Embroidery Industries Multan will be responsible for enrolling trainees as per seating capacity. Qualified trainers as per specified in curricula, modern machinery, equipment, tools, furniture and consumable items to all the trainees during their training period will also be provided by them. After examination, one month on job training (OJT) will be compulsory for all trainees.
