LAHORE - Ali Institute of Education arranged a get-together of distinguished alumni at its auditorium the other day.

The colourful ceremony was presided over by Board of Governors Chairman Syed Babar Ali. Rector Steve Ryan, faculty members, former students and their families attended the function.

Syed Babar Ali gave away shield of distinguished alumnus to Rasheed Ahmad Phularwan, who is visually challenged, in recognition of his valuable services in the field of education.

The chairman praised the commitment and passion of Phularwan towards promotion of education in the under-privileged and termed him as a valuable asset of the society who has worked on the platform of AIE and presently at Punjab Education Foundation.

Phularwan has successfully carried out different capacity building projects including Cholistan Community Schools in three districts of Bahawalpur division. He has previously worked with UNDP and other institutions of prestige where he used his expertise to promote quality education at the grassroots.
