Ex-PM for expediting mass-contact drive

LAHORE -  Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a party meeting at Jati Umra which decided to expedite the mass contact drive to mobilise the party voters for next elections.

The meeting also approved formation of committees at the provincial and divisional level, headed by party Parliamentarians and the office-bearers to reach out the masses and find out the most suitable candidates for the next elections.

Senior PML-N leaders including Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Talal Chaudhry, Daniyal Aziz, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Hanif Abbasi, Musadik Malik and Prime Minister’s adviser Irfan Siddiqui attended the meeting.

The meeting also decided that the party’s central and provincial Parliamentary Boards would finalise the party candidates for 2018 elections. The participants also discussed the matters relating party’s upcoming political rally in Kot Momin on December 31. Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to address the rally.

Addressing the meeting, the ousted Prime Minister reportedly told the meeting he would not sit idle at home and reach out to the people to tell them about the conspiracy behind his disqualification.

Nawaz Sharif also directed the party leaders to speed up the mass-contact campaign across the country.
