Pakistan, Russia need to strengthen cooperation in all sectors

LAHORE -  Pakistan and Russia are equally important for each other therefore both countries should strengthen cooperation in all economic sectors for mutual interests.

This was stated by LCCI President Malik Tahir Javaid while talking to the Trade Representative, Embassy of Russian Federation in Pakistan Yury Kozlov here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. LCCI Senior Vice President Khawaja Khawar Rashid, Vice President Zeshan Khalil, Moazam Rasheed and Hasnain Raza Mirza also spoke on the occasion.

The LCCI President spoke highly about the trade and opportunities and economic potential of Pakistan and importance of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said that Russian expertise in energy and engineering sector can help Pakistan grow these sectors with impressive pace.

He said that Russia helped Pakistan for establishing Pakistan Steel Mills which played crucial role in development of the country.

He said that development of formal banking channels and direct flights between two countries is need of the hour as these steps will certainly give boost to bilateral trade. He said that CPEC project is well on the way towards completion and Gwadar Port has also become operational. We are glad to see that Russia has shown interest to be part of this mega project.

 PHC allows BMP presidential candidate to contest FPCCI polls

LAHORE -  The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday allowed Senator Haji Ghulam Ali to contest FPCCI presidential elections, which will be held on 29th December at Federation House, Karachi.

Spokesperson of Businessmen Panel (BMP), Ahmad Jawad said the honorable court suspended the order of Director General Trade Organization (DGTO) and allowed Haji Ghulam Ali to contest the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry elections. He said, “This decision proved that how our opponent group UBG misled the FPCCI voters and business community from the last three days and shown them a false and fabricated justifications.” He also negated the stance of the opponent group to elect unopposed VP from Punjab.

Jawad further stated that all the chambers of commerce in Balochistan, KP and majority trade associations as well as some chambers of Punjab and Sindh have reposed full confidence in the policies of the Businessmen Panel, by electing our candidates for the slot of president, senior vice president and vice presidents of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industryin the upcoming election.
