PHC closes down businesses of 35 quacks

LAHORE - The Punjab Healthcare Commission sealed 35 fake treatment centres of quacks here on Wednesday and initiated proceedings against them.  The PHC teams conducted surprise visits to healthcare establishments and sealed 35 businesses of quacks. These sealed fake treatment centres included 21 clinics, four each of dentists, medical stores and bone-setters, whereas one each hakeems and laboratories.

The sealed clinics included Ali Medical Store, First Aid Clinic and Din Clinic (Nizam Colony), Maryam Bibi Dispensary (Iqbal Town), Rafique Medical Store (Shahdara), Emmad Hospital (Kot Abdul Maalik), Haji Qammar Din, Haji Nizam Din and Hafizabad Jarrah (Ravi Road), A-One Medical Store (Gurumangat Road), Sheikh Muhammad Taqi Clinic (Madina Colony), Sardar Jee Unani Dawakhana (Walton Road), Ahsan Dental Clinic, Iqbal Dental Clinic, Nadeem Medical Store, Waqas Dental Clinic, Haq Family Hospital and Liaqat Clinic (Chungi Ammar Sadhu), Ravi Dawakhana, Al-Rehman Dental Lab and Al-Baghdad Hadi Jorr (Margazaar Colony), Madina Medical Store (Niaz Beg Road), Awan Clinic (Multan Road), Hashmi Clinic, Minhas Medicos and Allah Ditta Clinic (Johar Town), Hamada Ashraf Clinic (Faiz Park), Madina Homeopathic Clinic (Bagariyan Road), Ahmed Medical Store (Green Town), Aziz Clinic (Yateem Khana), Ahmed Homeopathic Clinic, Amjad Clinic and Family Care Medical Lab (Bakkar Mandi, Iqbal Pharmacy and Clinic (Allama Iqbal Town) and Makhdoom Hospital (Punjab Cooperative Housing Society).

Moreover, on the instruction of the PHC, the district health authorities had sealed 84 businesses of quacks during the last three months.

This has been done as per the Punjab Healthcare Commission Act 2010.
