Aram Bagh Club wins Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Girls Basketball

LAHORE   -  Aram Bagh Club won the title of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed DMC South Cup Girls Basketball Tournament 2021 that was held at International Abdul Nasser Basketball Court Aram Bagh, Karachi. 

The event was conducted in association with DMC South under Usman Basketball Club. In the final, Aram Bagh Club defeated Bahria College Basketball Club by 32-28. All the players from the winning club contributed well and guided their team to title triumph. From the runners-up, Shizal Saleem (8), Ayman Shahid (7) and Laiba Saeed (5) played well. Ashraf Yahya, Zahid Malik and Amir Sharif officiated the match while technical officials were Nusrat Afzal, Anila Khadim Hussain, Nasreen Akhtar and Farah Riaz. 

At the prize distribution ceremony, special guest of honor, patron of sports, Shahida Parveen Kayani, distributed prizes and trophies among the winners, runners-up and top performers. KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Kashmiri Leader Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate, Tournament Organizer Zaima Khatun and others were also present on the occasion. 

Addressing the ceremony, Shahida Parveen paid homage to the first woman Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed (late) for her political and national services in glorious words. She asked the women players to make Benazir Bhutto their role model and try to follow her great national service and politics.  Paying tribute to women athletes for their excellent sportsmanship, Shahida Parveen said: “The girls have proved that they have great talent in the field of sports and education. They must come forward in good numbers to work side by side with the men and play key role in the progress of the country by leaps and bounds.”
