KARACHI A traditional gambling den where people across the province reached and let the cocks fight, gripped in panic on Sunday when an angry gambler pulled out a pistol and shot a man whose cock succeeded in the fight. The den situated at Ahsanabad, Sector 3, has been run since a long time under the protection of Suhrab Goth police. The eyewitnesses informed The Nation that the a local transporter Alludin was gambling with the cock of Raja Soomro Group, adding during the fight, the quarrel happened among these gamblers and suddenly one man pulled out TT pistol and opened fire on the Alludin, whose cock was just about to reach destiny. Resultantly, Alludin received a bullet in his stomach which went through his body and entered an another man Illahi Bux who is coming from Kathore for cock fight. The onlooker, however, shifted them to the local private hospital where doctor pronounced the death of Allauddin before reaching hospital while Illahi Bux admitted in hospital in a critical condition, later the body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed hospital for legal formalities. The area people informed that the incident occurred in the presence of police mobile van of Suhrab Goth Police Station as the Suhrab Goth police used to take handsome bid from the owner of this traditional gambling den. The area belonged to lower class, where the slum area along Shanty settlements established, a gambler wished to be not mention his named informed that a local Raja Soomro run the den, however it usually open in Sunday basis while the large number of people across the province visit here and play. Following the incident area police cordoned off the area and seized the den, when contacted the duty office of the concern police station, he declined to provide any comments about the present of police mobile van during the incident happened however he just informed that area police was known about the running den after the incident occurred and we have registered the case and initiated probe.
