A drug smuggler was arrested by National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) after the vehicle he was travelling in met with an accident on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway the other day. The accused was carrying 60kg charas in his van, which overturned after its tyre burst due to speeding. Soon after the incident, patrolling staff reached there.

During rescue operation, they recovered huge quantity of charas from the vehicle. After giving necessary medical treatment, the accused along with the vehicle and narcotics was handed over to the police.

The question, however, is: How did the accused managed to go uncheck when there are abundant police checkposts in the city? Against this backdrop, they seems to be completely useless and a burden on national exchequer.
