SANGLA HILL - On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Anti-Dengue Day was observed here the other day.

On the occasion, an awareness seminar was held at TMA under the chair of TMO Syed Intisam Sadiq Shah. Assistant Commissioner Shakil Ahmed Bhatti, THQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Iqbal Hussain Wattoo, AEO Shahida Parveen and MA Rana Saraaf addressed the seminar.  A large number of people including government officers and TMA workers were also present on the occasion. AC Shakil Ahmed Bhatti said that with timely precautions and collective efforts dengue could be overcome effectively. Syed Intisam directed the health staff to make campaign meaningful by cleaning and clearing all the breeding grounds of dengue mosquito.

Dr Iqbal Wattoo suggested different ways to get rid of the dengue mosquito. Rana Sharaaf praised the Punjab chief minister for his “untiring and effective” steps against dengue. All the local educational institutions, businesses and hospitals remained opened. The teaching staff and students at schools and colleges made arrangements to make the environment of their respective institutions dengue-free. The TMA staff and workers participated in the special cleanliness campaign.
