ISLAMABAD - Cockfight erupted between the officials of Secretariat of Public Accounts Committee dominated the proceedings of PAC on Wednesday.
During proceedings of PAC on Wednesday, additional Secretary Qamar Sohail Lodhi accused deputy Secretary Naghmana Kakar of dumping the committee directions. “Directives of committee dispatched to various departments and ministries are usually dumped in the office of Deputy Secretary Naghmana Kakar. This has brought down efficiency of PAC Secretariat,” Sohail told committee on Wednesday.
Promptly reacting to the allegations, Deputy secretary Naghmana Kakar condemned these allegations terming it a move to defame her and claimed that her office has been very active to send the directives to Ministries and departments. “It seems a conspiracy against me. I condemn it,” Naghmana Kakar told committee. The PAC, after listening to the both parties asked for an inquiry report top be submitted before it within a month.
On Wednesday, Nadeem Afzal Chan, chairman of National Assembly Accounts Committee informed the participants that PAC has recovered Rs 138 billion in 4 years and that is being submitted in national Kitty. The National Accounts Committee meeting led by Chairman Nadeem Afzal Gondal in parliament on Wednesday in which they claimed that the National Accounts committee recovered the plundering money with worth of Rs 115 billion during the tenure of Chaudhry Nisar while 23 billion rupees from the era of Nadeem Afzal Gondal.
Meanwhile, The committee member Ayaz Sadiq point of order that they received many information that all important files of Committee has been disappeared from Committee and these direction are being changed on which many other member express deep grief. They receive information in this regard but no change would be made on directions, the chairman further added.
