LAHORE - Tahir Javaid Malik has unanimously been elected Chairman of Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) for a two- year term. Former Chairman All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association Khamis Saeed Butt and former Chairman Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Amjad Ali Jawa were elected Senior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.

Soon after his election as PIAF chairman, Tahir Javaid Malik, while addressing 100-member Executive Committee, spelled out his priorities and vowed the strengthen liaison with government departments.

Tahir Javaid Malik, who had already served the business community as Senior Vice President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the government would have to facilitate the private sector for enhancing productivity that had nose-dived to the lowest ebb because of unavailability of electricity and gas.

He said that increase in exports would also be his priority and to achieve the objective he would be ensuring participation of fellow businessmen in international fairs and exhibitions.
