SHEIKHUPURA - Two protesters sustained bullet injuries when the Bhiki police resorted to aerial firing to disperse the mob on Wednesday.

The police had arrested Shabbir owing to his involvement in an incident. The arrested man’s relatives accompanied by a large number of area people took to the Faisalabad Road and blocked the traffic for two hours. The police opened fire to disperse them.

Resultantly, Usman, 10, and another person sustained injuries. They were shifted to hospital. The police high-ups reached the spot and normalised the situation with an assurance that justice to be provided to them

SYMPOSIUM: A weekly symposium under the auspice of the Writers Club of Pakistan was held. Prominent poets including Nizami, Arshad Naeem, Sahibzada Riaz Akber, Syeda Sehar, Fiza Batool, Sahira Bano and Bila Dardi read out their poetry.

Shariq Nizami appreciated the poets on delivering their meaningful message in a befitting manner. The country now-a-day is facing crises and poets could steer it out of critical condition, he said.
