ISLAMABAD - Chief Election Commissioner Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Hamid Khan Advocate, has suspended the basic membership of PTI leader Khalid Aziz Lone for disturbing the peaceful conduct of intra-party elections at Gujranwala and being accused of violence against media in the process.

“It has been reported to the Central Election Commission that on February 26, 2013, you disturbed the peaceful conduct of intra-Party elections at Gujranwala. In the process, you are also accused of assaulting the media people causing injury to some cameramen and damaging their equipment,” said the official letter issued here by PTI election commission.

The letter said that in the light of the above-stated facts, Mr Lone has been apparently guilty of gross indiscipline. “It has, therefore, been decided to suspend your membership of the Party with immediate effect”.
