ISLAMABAD - Prof Dr Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) on Wednesday said teachers should present themselves as a role model to the students.

Addressing to the faculty members of the varsity on the commencement of summer semester 2013, he said they should taught them in such a way so that in future they could serve the nation effectively and to perform their duties with dedication and sincerity.  Prof Dr Sahibzada Sajid ur Rehman, Vice President IIUI was also present on the occasion. He said due to rapid development of Information technology the world has became a global village and to survive with dignity and honour in this global village they should remain updated in each and every area of knowledge.

Dr Al-Draiweesh said promotion of Islamic education is the distinction of IIUI and teachers should work hard to maintain this distinction of the university.

He said Islam teaches moderation and teachers should transfer this teaching of Islam to the students and urged them to stay away from extremism because there is no place in Islam for terrorism and extremism.

About the incentives of the faculty members he said university will award prizes to the teachers with best performance in teaching and research and other facilities will also be provided to them so that the faculty members may perform their duties comfortably. He said residential apartments for the faculty members will also be built within the university campus. Dr. Al-Draiweesh also announced that 300 foreign students will be admitted and university will bear all expenditures of those students.
