Arrest warrants of Umar Akmal issued

LAHORE - Judicial magistrate of Model Town Courts Imtiaz Ahmad Noor issued bailable arrest warrants of cricketer Umar Akmal in traffic warden beating’s case here on Thursday. As proceedings started, the petitioner counsel said that Umar Akmal neither appeared in the court nor he submitted any application in this regard. As this, the judge expressed dismay and issued his bailable arrest warrants for March 11. Gulberg police had registered the FIR against Akmal on charges of beating a warden Zeeshan. The warden claimed that the player had violated a traffic signal and became violent when challan chit was issued to him. He alleged that Akmal manhandled him and also tore his uniform. The investigating officer had already submitted challan of the case wherein he declared Akmal guilty.–Staff Reporter
