Bugti’s grandsons move IHC

ISLAMABAD - Three grandsons of late Nawab Akbar Bugti Thursday moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to get their payment against the land that they leased out to the government in Dera Bugti.
Petitioners, including Shazain Khan Bugti, Gohram Khan Bugti and Chakar Khan Bugti cited the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources and Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) as respondents in their petition.
They moved the petition through their counsel Babar Awan advocate and contended before the court that they had signed an agreement with the respondents on January 28, 2011 for the lease of their land in Dera Bugti.
Their counsel informed the court that as per agreement, the respondents were to pay Rs125 million to the Bugtis that they did not pay and had been delaying the matter on one pretext or other.
The petitioners alleged that officials in the above-mentioned respondent institutions were delaying the payment expecting from the petitioners to pay them kickbacks.  They maintained that the amount against lease of land has been their legitimate right and they do not want to grease palms of the officials.
They added that as per the agreement, respondents were bound to pay the amount within a specified time limit. The petitioners prayed to the court to direct the Petroleum Ministry and OGDCL to pay their dues without any further delay.
