At least 12 persons including two women were killed and another 10 injured in different incidents of violence, enmity and mishaps in different parts of Punjab.

According to details, in Sargodha, a youth was gunned down by unidentified assailants in village 45/SB the other night. Police have registered a case on the application of Asim Raza. Hetold the police that his cousin namely Sajjid Raza was on the way back home when two unidentified armed persons gunned him down. The killers fled away from the spot. Police have launched investigation. Besides police have also lodged FIR against four bandits who killed a mini truck driver Mohammad Javed for offering resistance near village 75/NB ago on the report of deceased’s nephew Tanvir Ahmed of Iqbal Colony.

Similarly in Mandi Bahauddin, 24-year-old young man Zahid Imran died allegedly in police custody.  According to details, he was caught by residents of Gurha Mohallah while stealing a motorcycle the other day. He was handed over to the City Police. According to police, the accused committed suicide by hanging himself from a water pipe in the bathroom. On the other hand, family of the deceased blamed that police subjected him to brutal physical torture that caused his death. On the application of DPO, the District and Session judge has appointed Magistrate/civil judge to hold judicial inquiry into the incident.

In Sahiwal, two motorcyclists were crushed to death in a road mishap on Noor Shah Road.

As per details, two youth namely Asghar and Maqsood were returning home on a motorcycle. When they reached near Adda Noor Shah, a speeding passenger bus, coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcycle. Resultantly both the youth sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

In Kanganpur, two persons including a woman were killed in a traffic accident on main Kanganpur-Ellahabad Road the other day.

The deceased were later identified as Munawer Bibi, 50 and 30-year-old Karamat Ali, residents of suburban Village Mokkal. The accident occurred when Karamat along with his elder sister Munawer bib was going on a motorcycle (LEO 7974) to Ellahabad. As they reached near to Jamsher Kalan a Truck (GMR 1287) ran the bike over. They sustained critical wounds and were rushed to nearby hospital where doctors pronounced their death.

The truck driver managed to escape from the scene leaving the truck behind. The police have registered a case against the runaway driver.

Meanwhile, in Bahawalpur, 40-year-old Muhammad Asghar, a resident of Amaan Garh near Rahim Yar Khan, committed suicide by shooting himself over dispute. As per details, Asghar had divorced his wife some three months ago due to which she along with her two children had settled with her parents.

He went to meet his children at the house of his former in-laws but the angry woman did not let him meet his children. At which he got frustrated and committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol.

The police shifted the dead body to hospital for post-mortem and started investigation.

In another incident, 25-year-old Imran Noor, a resident of Basti Pir Shaheedan near Rahim Yar Khan, got frustrated at continuous domestic disputes. He committed suicide by swallowing a large amount of rat killing pills. He fell unconscious and was taken to hospital where he breathed his last.

While, in Sheikhupura, two wedding guests died on the spot while another sustained injuries near village Marh Bhangowan on Shaqpur Road. According to details, the participants of a wedding procession were proceeding to Sailkot to bring bride from there. When they reached Sharqpur Road, a speeding car overturned as a result the groom’s father Nooruddin and elder brother Mansoor died on the spot. While a younger brother sustained injures. The Sharqpur Police have started investigation into the incident.

In another incident, 18-year-old Christian girl namely Rooma was crushed by a moving train near Farooq Nagar. The deceased was crossing the track when the accident occurred.
