KARACHI : -The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $8,654.6 million on 21 Feb 2014. The break-up of the foreign reserves position as foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: $3,870.8 million, Net foreign reserves held by banks: $4,783.8 million and total liquid foreign reserves: $8,654.6 million. During the week ending 21 Feb 2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $674 million to $3,871 million compared to $3,197 million in the previous week. The increase in the Central Bank reserves is attributed to receipts from multilateral and bilateral sources.

During the week ending 21 Feb 2014, total official payments were $172 million which includes $149 million paid to IMF under SBA.
