Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Central leader Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi denied having any link with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, saying that legislation was need of the hour to root out sectarianism and avoid any Shia-Sunni conflict in the country.

He was talking to the newsmen here in Satellite Town on Thursday.

Maulana Farooqi questioned that as why some leaders were advocating army operation in North Waziristan but they didn’t support operation in Karachi. He stressed the need for concrete measures to eliminate terrorism and sectarianism from the county.

He emphasised that peace talks with Taliban should be held and all out efforts should be made for its success. He pointed out that Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat would favour any legislation aim at uprooting sectarianism and Shia-Sunni divide in the country.

ARRESTED: Anti-Corruption Establishment team arrested Naib Tehsildar Malik Mohammad Ashraf on Thursday. The accused was allegedly involved in corruption in land transfer case and issuance of fake decrees of a property.
