LAHORE  :  Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) website has been ranked as the number one website of the government of Pakistan, bagging 10 million downloads of the business advising information for Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Scheme. It was disclosed by Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, Chief Executive Officer SMEDA at a media briefing.  CEO SMEDA further informed that in a short span of 4 months, the global rank of SMEDA Web Portal had improved from 505,686 to 42,088. SMEDA, in line with its mandate, is playing a key role in spurring entrepreneurship development in the country, especially focusing on youth, he said.

 adding that nurturing entrepreneurship among youth through providing means and resources for converting ideas and skills into commercial ventures is therefore, a key priority. In this regard, to support new enterprise creation, SMEDA has developed business information resources and tools that are available, free of cost at SMEDA web portal, he said and informed that  these include 56 pre-feasibility studies in Engineering and Manufacturing, Information Technology, Agriculture, Agriculture and Fruit Processing, Livestock, Food, Services and Minerals sectors, that provide valuable information on setting up a particular business including finance (investment and returns), production and operations, marketing, human resources etc.
